Beautiful Beginnings Child Care Center has an immediate opening for an Education Coordinator.

Beautiful Beginnings is a four star BrightStars rated program that serves children from six weeks through five years of age in Providence. We currently operate six Infant and Toddler classrooms, and six Preschool and Pre-K classrooms, including two state Pre-K classrooms.  We also provide Head Start and Early Head Start for qualifying families in our program.

The Education Coordinator provides support for teaching staff to create and maintain a high quality learning environment for the children in our care.  The Education Coordinator will work with our full time Education Coordinator as part of the education management team.  Strong skills in family engagement and the ability to work in a diverse setting is necessary. 

This position is 25-30 hours per week with benefits.  

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of early childhood education classroom teaching experience
  • 3 years supervisory experience in a quality child care environment desired
  • Current RI State Teaching Certificate in ECE or ECE Special Education or plan to earn this certification within a year of beginning employment.  
  • 3-credit college course or a minimum of 40 hours of professional development over the in mentoring, supervision and leadership OR an individual professional development plan for achieving this requirement within 2 years of employment.
  • Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standard certificate relevant to this position OR an individual professional development plan for achieving this requirement within 2 years of employment  
  • Previous experience with infants, toddlers, preschoolers and special needs children in a classroom setting is a plus
  • Strong writing and organizational skills are required
  • The ability to pass DCYF & BCI criminal background checks
