Perspectives provides an array of therapeutic services accessible to individuals who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing in Rhode Island from in-home early intervention programs to adult programs. Our specialized team is proficient in American Sign Language, or are native users.
We are thrilled about expanding our Deaf and Hard of Hearing services by opening a new residential program and providing enhanced supports to Deaf/HoH individuals in several other programs within the central Rhode Island areas.

We are in search of the following positions:
Residential Program Manager with excellent leadership and communication skills to join our team. This is full time position for candidates with a BA/BS Degree in Human Services or related field and experience working with people who are Deaf/HoH with special healthcare needs. Must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and have familiarity and comfort with Deaf culture. Responsible for supervision of staff, program oversight, staffing coordination, ensures fiscal responsibility of program and promotes public relations. Flexible hours required to work daytime and evening shifts.
Service Coordinator who exhibits excellent leadership skills and demonstrates excellence in providing direct support to individuals served. This a full time position for a candidates with a High School Diploma/equivalent and a 2 year degree or certificate in Human Services filed or equivalent experience working with people who are Deaf/HoH with special healthcare needs. Must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and have familiarity and comfort with Deaf culture. Responsible for providing optimal clinical supports for individuals served and ensuring that agency policies and procedures are implemented correctly and that the D/HoH individuals served live valued and high-quality lives. Flexible hours required to work daytime and evening shifts.
Site Supervisors who exhibit excellent leadership and communication skills to join our team. These are full time positions for candidates with a High School Diploma/equivalent and 2 years of experience providing direct support to people who are Deaf/HoH with special healthcare needs. Must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and have familiarity and comfort with Deaf culture. Responsible for supervising the work of Direct Support Professionals (DSP) and ensuring that the agency policies and procedures are upheld and that the individuals served live valued and high quality lives. Flexible hours to work daytime and evening hours.
Registered Nurse to join our team. This is full time position for candidates with a BS Degree in Nursing and experience working with people who are Deaf/HoH with special healthcare needs. Candidates must have a current RI nursing license. Must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and have familiarity and comfort with Deaf culture. Responsible for coordination of individual healthcare, work with multidisciplinary team, provide patient teaching and staff in-service trainings. Responsible for ensuring that agency and policies and procedures are implemented correctly and that the individuals served live valued and high quality lives. Knowledge of current nursing standards, psychotropic meds, and excellent interpersonal skills and documentation skills required. Flexible hours to work daytime and evening hours.
We are also looking for several dedicated and reliable Direct Support Professionals to join our team. Full time and part time positions are available for candidates with a High School Diploma/equivalent . Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) along with familiarity and comfort with Deaf culture. Must have access to an insured vehicle with a good driving record. Responsible for providing assistance in completing daily living skills, participate in community outings and activities. Provide employment support (job coaching), personal care supports, educational and social skills supports. All shifts are available (1st, 2nd and 3rd).
We are also hiring full time and part time ASL Interpreters to join our agency to effectively interpret between American Sign Language and spoken English for meetings, trainings and discussion groups for staff and participants in the community, home based programs and residential programs. Successful candidates must be energetic self-starters with well developed interpersonal and communication skills. Additionally, the ASL Interpreter must display the ability to thrive in a challenging and creative working environment. Candidates must have a strong understanding of ASL and Deaf culture. BA/BS Degree in Interpreting, Linguistics, Deaf Studies, Psychology, Sociology or related field preferred. Must have a minimum of a HS diploma or equivalent and 3 consistent years working as a sign language interpreter. Candidates must hold a certificate (NIC, CT/CI, NAD 4/5) from the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. or other equivalent interpreter certification; must also have (or be eligible for) a certified license issued by the RI Board of Examiners for the Deaf thru RI Department of Health and must maintain such certifications as a condition of employment. This position requires the ability to travel to all agency locations.
